Start up of Support Group

I would like to get together with all of the parents and grandparents in the area and see if I can find a day that works with most people, so please shoot me an email with the days and time that you would be interested in getting together for support and encouragement.

Right now I'm currently in the process of talking with Michele Doss (owner of Chase Foods) about putting together a Feingold Safe Halloween party, so if that's something that your family would like to take part in this year please know that I will be talking with her more tomorrow (Monday) and will post later in the week about any possible plans of getting together.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions about the Feingold diet, if you need help locating products or just general inquiries.

Trick-or-Treating FG Style

If you intend to stay home and hand out candy, I've listed some safe snacks that you can find at Whole Foods, Native Sun or Chase Foods. If these stores are out of your way, make a list of what your looking for and call them.

Whole foods currently has a display set up near the front of the store with Halloween items to hand out or give to toss in goodie bags. Some of these are stage one and some are stage 2, please consult your Food List & Shopping Guide to find out which.

Some solutions FG parents have found are as follows:
(1) Trade in the bad trick-or-treat candy for 1 cent each.
(2) Trade in the bad candy for the good candy
(3) Keep an eye out for buy back programs being offered by dentists in your area. Some pay up to $1 per lb of candy.
(4) Instead of trick or treating, create their own Halloween basket (similar to an easter basket). This keeps your kids home, safe and doesn't require much of you buy grocery shopping. :-)
(5) Locate those who have military families overseas and send the candy over to the troops so they can enjoy it. No chocolate of course.

Florida's Natural (seen @ Chase Foods & Whole Foods)
